Internal tools built with AI: 6 places a company can keep them, compared

When people across a company build dashboards and tools with Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, spawnpoint keeps them in one place the company owns, and anyone at the company opens them with a code from their work email. Retool is the better fit when the tools are screens over a production database that an IT team controls. The others fit when everyone builds inside one product.

Three things matter more for a company than for one person: whether everyone at the company can open an app without a new account, whether the company owns the apps and can see them all, and what it costs when 10 people build and 40 more only open what they build.

spawnpoint

spawnpoint is the place where your team's AI lives. A team is the company's shared account: coworkers who sign in with the same company email join it, and every app a member deploys belongs to the team, so it stays online when its builder is away. The team page lists every app and who built it, and a team admin can delete any of them. You share an app with everyone at your company's email domain in one step, and each person opens it with a one-time code from their inbox, with no account. Each member keeps their own coding agent, and the team's skills and files reach every member's agent. Pro is $100 a month, paid by the person who makes the team, and covers up to 2 teams of up to 10 members each. The 40 coworkers who only open apps cost nothing, so the whole company pays $100 a month.

Retool

Retool builds internal tools from its own components, on top of databases and APIs the company already runs, with permission groups, audit logs, and the option to run on your own servers. It does not take an app someone wrote with a coding agent. It bills each person: on the Team plan, $12 a month per builder and $7 per internal user, so 10 builders and 40 coworkers cost $400 a month. People outside the company are not included on Team.

Replit

Replit Pro is $100 a month for up to 15 builders and 50 viewers, paid as monthly credits, so 10 builders and 40 viewers fit one plan. An app that stays on is a Reserved VM at $15 to $130 a month from those credits. A private app opens for the workspace and people you invite, and each of them signs in through Replit. Building happens in Replit's editor and Replit Agent, and Claude Code can publish to it through Replit's MCP server.

Lovable

Lovable prices a workspace by credits, with unlimited members, and Business starts at $50 a month. Limiting an app to your workspace needs Business, and visitors to a restricted app sign in with a Lovable account. Building happens in Lovable's editor, and each message to its agent uses credits.

Vercel

Vercel is built for engineers shipping a product to the public. A private deployment opens for members of your Vercel team (viewer seats are free), people you approve one at a time, or anyone with a share link, and there is no setting for everyone at a company's email domain short of Enterprise sign-in through your identity provider. Pro is $20 a month for each person who deploys, plus usage: $200 a month for 10 builders.

Claude Team and Enterprise

On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, an artifact can be shared with the whole organization, and everyone who opens it already has a Claude account. An artifact is a page that can save up to 20 MB of text, with no server of its own. A company already on Claude Team can keep simple pages there and put the apps that need a server or a database on spawnpoint from the same chat.
